

Dr. Gordon E. Moore
Dr. Gordon E. Moore, Chair of the Executive Committee, is currently Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Intel Corporation. Moore co-founded Intel in 1968, serving initially as Executive Vice President. He became President and Chief Executive Officer in 1975 and held that post until elected Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1979, retaining that position until 1987. Dr. Moore remained Chairman until 1997, at which time he became Chairman Emeritus.
Before founding Intel, Moore was director of R. & D. for the Fairchild Semiconductor Division of Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corporation, a company that he co-founded in 1957. Born in San Francisco, California, Moore earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Physics from the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Moore is a director of Gilead Sciences. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the IEEE, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Conservation International, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the California Institute of Technology. He received the National Medal of Technology in 1990 from President George Bush.
